Great site! I've got a question for you: I heard an alternative release of EC's first solo album ("Eric Clapton", 1970) in a collector's shop about 10 years ago and haven't seen or heard of it since. The story I was told was that Leon Russell originally produced the album, but his version was rejected by the lable at the 11th hour after some promotional copies were already in circulation. EC went back in the studio with Delaney Bramlett and the commercial release was the result. I only heard parts of selected cuts from the Leon Russell version, but the production was distinctively Leon Russell-sounding. The arrangements were more open, Leon's distinctive piano-playing was out front, and the tempo was a tad slower. Do you know anything about this?
Thanks for a great site!

Eric Clapton is the bees knees. Tears in Heaven is quite overrated, but his Cream stuff is really worth listening to.

Firstly, my full name is Mohanamurali (in short: Mohaan) living in Malaysia in the state of selangor under klang town council.
I was inspired to listen to CLAPTON back in 1990. Introduced by my cousin. Since then to this date,
I've almost got all his albums, but still looking to get the Yardbirds days albums, the
Cream days albums, the the beano John Mayall feat. Eric Clapton album and whatever
Dominos days albums & many more. To Eric, if your reading this, your latest release in regards with my man
Robert Johnson, was simply superb. I love each and every track on it. My request is that
you make an album in regards of my elder statesman Mr. Muddy Waters (McKinley Morganfield) &
Howlin' Wolf (Chester Arthur Burnett) and also albums with John Mayall, Phil
Collins & Buddy Guy. I love every album of yours which are in my possession.
I don't buy pirated CD/DVD/VCD. thank you Eric for the great music, thank you for
your inspiration & introduction to the blues music. I recorded a version of
Before You Accuse Me (Bo Diddley / Ellas McDaniel(s)) as a college project @ SAE Malaysia.
It was great and I received 92% marks for it. Thank you. You have a great site.
God bless you. CLAPTON IS GOD and WILL BE FOREVER. 09/June/2005 0420 hrs (4:20 am).
I call myself McKinley Morganfield. Thank you again to the administrator of this site & to ERIC CLAPTON.

E.C. is great and my husband keeps on telling me so. He has his music on all day in the house and even when I get into the car it is on as well. He has been to all your gigs in the U.K. and has every album you ever recorded. in fact I think he loves E.C. more than me???

I've picked up a feel for the guitar, and i cannot stress how much EC has influenced my playing. I'm 14 and I cannot stop listening to his music! I feel Eric Clapton is one my most cherished song writers/guitar players I've ever admired. Because for a while I had this major and awful time in my life and i started listening to him a lot more than just the radio. One night i was so sad because my Grandma had been diognosed for lung cancer at stage 4. I couldnt get the thought of loosing her so i stayed up all night listening to EC blues and crying. But his music has changed my perceptions to everything and the way I've looked at music. But now I find that EC has expressed so much music from his heart, and I would like to do the same in the "future". To you Mr. Clapton I cant get this thought through my brain, how much pain you must've went through after your son died. IM just so sorry. To have a kid, commit your life to something so important i cant imagine the pain. TO you and evnentually I'll meet you in person.

Firstly, let me thank you, Mr Clapton, for providing an exit for me away from the bland, homogeneous music of today that is shown on MTV etc. Dance music? What the hell? Anywho, you are one of the greatest guitarists of all time and even though I'm only 18 and still trying to
find all your greatest work, keep it up!

Dear Mister Clapton,
I just want to thank you for all the music and feelings you give too me. You mean so much too me, I can't express it in words, but
I'm going to try. Because of you, I think I really understand music. It's not about who sells the most records or who plays the music the record company wants it to play. It's about the feeling you get when you're playing the music of your heart. I
mean, you're struggles with the Yardbirds f.e, that's what Mr Slowhand is really about for me. Play the music you want to play, and if you don't like it, well, too bad for you, I'm not playing for the masses, I'm playing for myself. I listen too your music although all my friends are about the Timberlakes and all the R&B(Blues, yeah right) they're playing these days. F*ck them, if I want to listen too the blues I listen to the blues, whether they like it or not.
Thank you for everything, I only saw you live once, Rotterdam 2004, it was probably the best day of my live, when you walked at the stage I couldn't say a word, I just stared and let the whole evening pass. In trance. Thank you so very very much, for everything, and more..

At the risk of offending all fans as well as Mr. Clapton, which I sincerely don't mean to do, I think after Mr.B.B. King there's no better guitar player!!! I also doubt that many people in their lifetimes can say they were so lucky to hear two such very talented men! All I can do is say thank you and I will be forever grateful to both of them and my Higher Power for allowing me the pleasure of my heart being touched by their music. God Bless and Thank you.
