Guestbook 2003

EC has been my favorite guitarist for more years than I care to divulge. I am enjoying your site. I must say that the Concert For George, was one of the finest shows I have ever seen! Yeah, I have a DVD drive on my computer and rocking out in my room seems to be the norm for me. God Bless, Robert D. Shepardson

Hopefully you will play and sing for the next 30 years too. The last 30 years with your music was too short. It isn't possible to say which song from you is the best because the most of it are brilliant. I will not forget you and your music for the rest of my life. Thank you for your music!

Well...Eric seems to have stopped touring world-wide, but it doesn't mean he doesn't tour any more, as another tour of Japan has been *officially* confirmed (and it's the biggest ever!). The dates are as follows: Hiroshima, 15th, Nov. Osaka, 17th, 19th and 20th, Nov. Nagoya, 22nd, Nov. Saitama, 24th, Nov. Yokohama, 26th and 27th, Nov. Tokyo, 29th and 30th, Nov., 2nd, 3rd, 9th and 10th, Dec. Sendai, 5th, Dec. Sapporo, 7th, Dec. There is also a strong rumore from insider source that two more Tokyo dates, 12th and 13th Dec., are likely to be added to the above hereafter. All of the Tokyo shows are at the Budokan. The promoter touts the tour as "Thirty years since his first Japanese visit! A special series of concerts for the Japanese fans. Just for you." Accordingly, some fans already started to call this "Just For You Tour" but I don't think it's the official tag, anyway. And, of course, it's not only for us Japanese. With no new album in sight, and no concrete plan of UK or US tour at this very moment, it is quite unpredictable what the performance will be like hence really interesting. There are plenty of dates to choose from-how about considering to catch Eric on tour in one of his favorite territories?

I've been a fan since I was 10 (18 years ago). When I met my wife, I dragged her along to an EC concert. She couldn't believe that one man dressed in Jeans and t-shirt could make an entire audience fall silent and still with one piece of music. It was of course "Tears in Heaven", need I say more? Eric, I absolutely adore you. I've been a fan of yours since I was a kid (now I'm 42) and you're by far the best guitarist I've ever heard. I've seen you live in concert 3 times. The last time I saw you perform I was 7 weeks pregnant with my oldest daughter (now 10). It was the Unplugged tour with Tears in Heaven, and I remember identifying with you in the loss of your son, Connor, because I had endured 3 miscarriages. Now, my 2 daughters ages 10 and 7 and my son - 5 - are rockin' to your new One More Car, One More Rider CD. I also own Journeyman, Just One Night, Unplugged, Rush soundtrack, Eric Clapton, 461 Ocean Blvd., and I gave 24 Nights CD as a birthday present to my brother. I'm currently in the process of buying an Eric Clapton Fender "Blackie" strat so I can enjoy playing guitar as a hobby. You're my inspiration! Congrats on your little daughters. Remember always, YOU ARE LOVED!!! From your number one fan, A redhead named Elaine

Standing at the CROSSROADS IN THE BEGINNING.. GOD created BO DIDDLEY & other BLUES LEGENDS. (years later... ). GOD created HENDRIX. HENDRIX asked for more great BLUES GUITARISTS to jam with. So, GOD created E.P CLAPTON & S.R.V. Know known as THE BLUES GUITARIST GODS ! GOD said, "Ohh Sh*t man, i love them blues, I gonna create more BLUES GUITARISTS, nobody gonna go without. I am gonna keep creatin' 'em 'til they get the message, cause they aint got no SOUL if they aint got no BLUES !". AND SO IT WAS. GOD created more BLUES GUITARIST GODS than you can shake a strat at. Eric Clapton! What is there really to say about him. The tone of his guitar with the melody of his voice can not be surpassed in this life time. Many of my peers think I am nuts for even listening to EC but I know every guitar riff and everyone word from his days with the Yard Birds to the most recent Reptile. I started playing acoustic guitar when I was 5 and never stopped playing. EC kept me going, he is as much a part of my life as anyone. He was like a father figure to me. I lost my father to cancer a while back and now being 24 I can still here Layla in the back of my mind. That is why when I perform it I visualize my dad right there next to me wailing away at his guitar. the first time we played together, I was struggling to keep up, but as I got older I progressed and now I am a Clapton 2nd. No need to brag but I have had a lot of time to practice. Mates at school admired me and now they were hoping for me to release my own music. But for as long as I am doing music I can't. It wouldn't be fair to my dad if he never got to hear his son make it. Thank You EC for changing my outlook on life and for all the music you have helped people around the world come together with. Yours Truly, AP. P.S. I would love to go to just one EC concert, but i hear he will not go on tour again, which is a shame because I never got the chance my family did.

FYI...Big news for fans of Derek & the Dominos...Bobby Whitlock will be on Q104.3FM in New York City this coming Monday, May 19th. He will be performing live on DJ Ken Dashow's "Live at Five" program. Bobby just relocated to New Jersey in the Fall of 2002 and is in the process of recording a new album. I spent part of the day with him Saturday and heard some of the new tracks. Incredible stuff! I know he will be bringing at least one track called "Guilty". For those of you who might be interested, it would be great if you could call the station to request the cut or give your feedback if they play it on the air. Bobby will also be playing live acoustic with his girlfriend, Kim Carmel. She's a major talent in her own right and just wait until you hear what they sound like together. Delaney and Bonnie have nothing on these two! I know Bobby and Kim will appreciate whatever support or interest you show. Also, check out www.bobbywhitlock.com for news, live gigs, photos, CDs for sale, and much more. Sign their guest book and let them know the listening public cares!!! Remember...the song is called "Guilty" and Q104.3's public request line is 1-888-872-1043. Bobby would be blown away if people were requesting it before he even gets there on Monday. He goes on the air at 5PM. PS- You all should see the picture of him and Duane Allman hanging in the middle of Bobby's living room. Its from the Layla sessions and they both look so young. Its beautiful and sad at the same time. I'm also a HUGE EC fan and will be checking in regularly. Just wanted to get the word out about Bobby before Monday. For those that don't know Whitlock or don't necessarily care, thanks for allowing me the guestbook space anyway! Dean

Somehow there is not such a big difference between the strings of a Guitar and the string called a fly line connecting to the fish deep down. Both trembles fighting the emotions awaken by the thrill of uncertainty. Although I must admit the sound of Clapton’s guitar is more famous than the gentle hum in any bent fly rod from a high strung line in the current fighting a stubborn fish. Both though bring about the Blues when the thrill is gone. Such music around a fireplace on a riverbank is most welcome. See you on the waters Harry Ps... Congrats also to a very nice website

I've got over 200 CD's of Clapton and over 100 CD's where he also appear, and I can't even get enough of his music! His dramatic way to play the guitar; from the Bluesbreakers up to his Tribut Concert for another great Songwriter and Musician "George Harrison"; is fantastic! I hope he'll never end wis making music! ;-)))

After years of not listening to EC , I rediscovered him a few months ago when I bought the CD "The Cream of Eric Clapton" and I somehow couldn't believe the music that I had heard as a teenager after so many years again..... EC was only 23 years old when he formed "Cream" and allready then he played the guitar as if he was god in person.... Incredible .....On that CD there are not just Cream tracks , but there are many of his best works on it , Layla , I Feel Free , Sunshine Of Your Love , Crossroads , Strange Brew , White Room , Cocaine , I Shot The Sheriff , After Midnight , his version of Knock Knock Knocking On Heavens Door and ( ooops , forgot the title : yes.... you 're looking wonderfull tonight..... ) among others.... Since I bought this CD I haven't taken it out of my car CD player even though I have lots of other CDs by top 60'ies performers in my car...... Both thumbs up , Eric , you RULE.... !!!!!!!

Tears in Heaven is without a doubt the most touching song that I have ever heard. The hurt is there in his song and anyone who has lost someone dear to them can not ever get the lyrics out of the head. It expresses exactly what I have wanted to say but had no words. eric-clapton.co.uk is the best website to promote the King of the Guitar, Eric Clapton on the net. As said in the 60s "Clapton is God" I think this will always remain valid until Eric's Career totally dies. There is no other music like Eric's It's the best. Eric's slow way of playing really does encourage one to listen to him always. He's better than anyone!

I have followed Eric's music etc since the very early days when he first started, and later on remember seeing the film 'cream farewell' at the cinema, seen Eric few times in concert and have a lot of genuine CDs. Not downloads. Inspired me together with Hank Marvin to play the guitar and I am still playing and learning. What else can I say except hope to see Eric again in concert and hope he can come out of his semi retirement to prove he is the best since 'Hendrix'. Would welcome any feedback on Erics music etc via e mail. Eric's music has been with me for most of my life at good times and bad times and helped to keep me going through thick and thin. I think Eric is a talented singer and I love his single 'Tears in Heaven' I am listening to it at the moment - it is a brilliant tribute to his son, Conor. I didn't no anything about his son until my birthday on Friday 14th march, when my father told me. He only told me because I started singing - tears in heaven. And also some boys from Victoria College Jersey came to my school and sang the same acoustic version. He is a talented singer and I love his music. Vicki Bechelet

I wasn't even looking for it but I saw it from a few meters away and said to my girlfriend "Get it now hurry get it before it's gone" haha she said which one? that one with the red (I recognised it only by the very few colours I saw). It's the album E.C Was Here. Now I've got it finally yeah. (sorry for the bad English) that's all folks greetings from Holland :-)

I have been an Eric Clapton fan for quite some time now, and as a blues guitarist myself, I can honestly say that there are three pictures that adorn the mantle behind my desk. Eric, Jimi & Stevie Ray, and of the three I continually find myself drawn to Eric's music. Keep rockin till your 80 my brother. Sincerely Rick Doten Lead Guitar The Connection Band

Was never a real music fan until watching the Direct TV special of One More Car, One More Rider in Dec 02. We must have watched it 20 times. Now we have the DVD, CD and are on the way to collecting MORE of EC. I am 2 years older than EC and I can't believe the years of great music I've missed. Well I'm now a fan and plan to make up for lost time. I finally understand how so many of my friends have felt about music for years. They dragged me to clubs during the 60's all over SF and nothing clicked. Not Ike and Tina, Jefferson Airplane, GD, or even Janis Joplin. Guess you could say I'm a slow learner or was just waiting for the right artist and the right time. And I'm enjoying it, oh YES!!

Hey guys, Check this out Eric Clapton is covering 'Higher Ground' by Stevie Wonder on a new tribute album to Stevie Wonder called 'Conception'. Just found out about it through this cool music site where you do quiz's and stuff and get points which you trade in and get cool swag, posters and CDs etc.

I've been trying to find the chords or tabs to a song on the Reptile album called It's Broken Down (I think that's the right name, not broken hearted on Pilgrim) I can't figure out a couple of the transition chords (like from Am7 to Bm7?.) Anyway my ears aren't to good when it comes to that thing and it was omitted from the Tab Songbook of Reptile and I can't seem to get it. Any help would be appreciated. I'm a huge Clapton fan and enjoy playing his stuff finger style.

Dear Eric ! To you and your wife Melia all my best wishes for the birth of your daughter Ella May!!! How are you ? I've visited 2 concerts in Dortmund (Germany) and one in Frankfurt (Francfort) to enjoy your fantastic music ( accords, etc. ). I think you are one of the best guitar players - may be the best one. During those concerts I've tried to get into contact to you to meet you personally again. We got to know each other since the early sixties when Hans-Jürgen SCHRÖDER and I often visited your Mother's Pat & Frank MacDonald's house at HEMER near Dortmund. I still like to remember the time I also spent together with Brian (+) , Cheryl & "little" Heather. Question: Is there a chance to see you again on a concert on Backstage in the future? - If you should agree you perhaps could let me know by e-mail the conditions how that could be managed.- In 1994 I visited your mother at Ripley & 1997 I paid a visit to Frank MacDonald who is living now in the Rockies (Canada). Cheryl had informed me by a telephone-call of the death and burial of your Mother. Because of illness I couldn't take part - but I passed the message on to Hans-Jürgen. Hoping that you & and your family are getting on well my kindest regards & best wishes from Hans-Heinrich (Dexling) January 17th , 2003 My address , telephone-no., etc. I'll let you know by e-mail as soon as I've got your personal e-mail or private address.

I will be headed to Paris and the UK come the latter part of June. do any of you know if EC will be playing ANYWHERE? realise that he is probably pretty busy doing the new baby "thing." parenthood is a fairly demanding job! but thought I would ask, just in case.... je vous remercie!

Saw the man in 1993 on the Journeyman tour at Starwood. He hit the stage at 8:15 and played an unbelievable set, everything from Bad Love to Can't Find my way Home. He took a short break halfway through and ended up playing until almost 12:30. The Best Concert I Have Ever Seen. Bar None!!!--I think his young son was playing on the drum kit before the show--What a tragedy!!!! He's been making some the best music I've ever heard for close to forty years and he's still doing it, so Keep it up Eric!!!!!! Anybody that was at that concert, E-mail me!!!

Clapton is GOD and will always be GOD. There have been many guitarists who have come close to him e.g. Hendrix, but as far as I'm concerned, Clapton is the one true GOD. Ps. I give this website warm respect for giving a tribute to the worlds greatest man!
