Eric once said," I think that the ultimate guitar hero should be a dispenser of wisdom, as well as anything else... that's the one thing I will say that I'm still striving after, outside of perfection as a musician: the attainment of wisdom, in any amount." I am probably one of the biggest Clapton fans but come on Eric , though you sound good doing it but do you really think that wisdom was found Over the Rainbow? I think this last CD was just a big hyped up money maker for you that has every other song you did on how many other albums? The saddest part being that the only song that sounded like it had any soul was I Want A Little Girl. Well you got your little girl, two of them actually and if it is happiness that has inspired this new style, I must say it doesn't suit you ,musically. Tragedy and heartache seem to go hand and hand with your guitar and pick in order to set off some soul singing guitar licks. I'm sure happiness can do it for you too. Come on, give us something from the heart not some cheap thrill from Dorothy. I'm so disappointed!

Thank you, Eric, for your beautiful music. Your song, "Tears in Heaven" dedicated to your son Conor, touches our own hearts. Our son, Shane, died seven years ago from a drug overdose. Your comeback from drugs and alcohol is an incredible journey. We grew up in the 60's and have followed your magnificent music all the way to the present. Your DVD "One More Care One More Ride" is outstanding. Thank you for giving us such beautiful music. Jay & Bonnie Woods, Reno NV

What is the instrument being played by Mr. Sancious that looks like a reed with a long black tube running to the keyboard? Sounds a little like a clarinet. I can't find anyone who knows what it is. I've been listening to your televised concert and have really enjoyed it. I fell in love with your music as a teenager when you were in Cream and find that I enjoy your music even more now.

To Londra below (it is a down to earth site), I couldn’t agree more. I work in Los Angeles and there is a plastic surgeon in our building. In my office alone I know people who have had liposuction a tummy tuck and a face lift . I also know a lasik surgeon who tries to convince everyone he meets to throw out their glasses and get lasik and laser vision correction . People are so vain. Anyhow, let’s respect this guest book and commiserate about living in LA offline.

Thank you for producing such a down to earth site. I recently moved to Los Angeles California and can’t believe how many superficial people I have met. I think they should rename the state plastic surgery California or cosmetic surgery California . Excuse me for saying this but I have never seen so many breast implants . There are all kinds of breast enhancement surgery: breast enlargement breast augmentation even breast reduction it’s crazy.

Huge Clapton fan. I'm searching for some good bootlegs. I'm a B&P pro. Willing to trade also, but I only have 1 Clapton bootleg. Have lots of Widespread Panic, if you're interested. They're a great band - personal favorite. Clapton is second along with D&D. Looking for early 70s shows, D&D and Cream. I'll take anything. Thanks in advance for all y'alls help. Peace out......

Hey peeps! just wandering about what advice EC would give a 16 year old guitarist/vocalist playing the same circuit as he played 40 years earlier in richmond / kingston- the eel pie club, crawdaddy club etc...? More info at: www.joehollywoodband.com I wonder what EC would and could do for the next generation of young musicians. it's all good and well getting big by playing loads of gigs in a town buzzin off r n b, but nowadays i can't even get gigs. "that same old blues/rock/funk?" they say. i don't get the opportunity to play with all the big boys like ec did as a youngster. Unless there is more support from society generally and the "big boys", the blues and the roots will never be as big as in the 60's. the breaks just ain't there. any thoughts? joe

Great Website! EC is one of the greatest-Top 5 guitarists ever. What type of Telecaster did Slowhand play w/ The Yardbirds? Are there any pics of him in concert with them playing it? Is it in his current collection or did he put it up for auction? I am interested in finding out because I am a Tele player. It was because of the Yardbird sound-sort of-that I decided to go for that model of guitar. Can you send me or point out an area to find a photo? Sorry for the 20 Questions.

I had been a fan of Eric Clapton a couple years ago. The reason why I started listening to his songs is his tremendous way of singing My Father's Eyes. I saw the music video, it was fabulous. I thought My Father's Eyes is the best song I ever listen, but after I bought Clapton Chronicles, the song Layla and Wonderful Tonight inspired me. Now, I had already mentioned something about my first impression about Mr.Clapton, how 'bout you, anyone. if you are a big fan of Eric or have the latest news about him, please share with me by e-mail me, thank you !

Dear Mr. Clapton, You might find this comment a little amusing! I am a 61 year old White male – ‘short, fat and ugly’. [ http://www.poweruplubricants.net/aboutus.htm ] All through the years you were gaining acclaim, wealth and fame….. I was motating in a different venue, 50’s, New Age and Modern Jass. Recently [nine months ago] I decided to update my audio system [15 year old ankyo w/ a pair of Epicure 200b’s]…. So I went whole hog and bought a complete new 5.1 DVD system with [3] Kklipsch’s in front, the EPI200’s [re-coned] for back speakers and a 600 watt Boston Sub as a table right in the middle! I then bought three Clapton DVD’s… my favorite being ‘Eric Clapton and Friends in Concert’ – The Crossroads benefit!. I have been so taken with this DVD that it is my absolute favorite of all times! I cannot imagine a better performance by any group! The guests were great – but You were superb! As a Christian, my soul hopes that you are one of HIS… and that some day I will meet you! Best regards in all that you do…. May you, your family and your art prosper always! T.L. Krueger

I am a long time Eric's fan since his bluesbreaker's day. Having going through the music cycle from blues to rock, pop, movie soundtrack... and whatever any other people thought, Eric is still the true blue bluesman with the ultimate guitarwork. My greatest wish is that maybe he could look back the old days and probably record an album with John Mayall for the hell of it back when I first bought the JM buesbreaker with Eric Clapton

Hey there. I research home equity loans regarding mortgage financing headaches. Home equity loans work even if you have a second mortgage or no home equity . You can even do some debt consolidation too.

Just been chatting to my grandparents at a family Bar B Q, and my grandfather trotted out the family favourite Clapton story. Not sure if its true but thought you might like it any way. In 1963-64, my aunt, June Child, worked in the record business in London. She was friends with Eric and her future husband Marc Bolan. After getting caught in a rain shower, on the way to my grandfathers flat, in North End House, Fulham, June and Eric and possibly some others came into the kitchen to dry off. Eric was apparently wearing a new £75 flared 3/4 length sheep skin jacket (and was very proud of it). My grandparents swear blind he was very charming and witty as he dried off, standing in front of the electric fire in the kitchen. It was only when they smelled burning did they realise the new jacket was smouldering and shrinking. Before they knew it, the bottom of the jacket had turned up like a bib and dried rock hard. like I said sounds far fetched but they assure me it happened. I wonder if he remembers? Adam

Hey EC! If you're free on the 24th August 2002, can u get down to The Grey Horse, Richmond Rd, Kingston (basically opposite Kingston art college where u used to chill) Im 16 and play and sing and me and my band r playing down there, keeping music live, and playing the fruits of the blues roots. Funny how things seem to go round in circles eh? what would be your best bit of advice for a surrey kid listenin to blind willie mctell etc etc playing the Richmond/Kingston circuit 40 years after you were doing the same thing? Just wanted to say to you, Eric, that we too lost a child. We understand the pain. Wish I could say it gets better. We are still suffering after 25 years. But, we do try to think of the good times. We, as well as you, wonder what our Nicole will be like when we see her in heaven. I hope so much that she will be just as we remember her. I am so happy for you that you have found happiness. Did anyone else on this site catch EC's gig at Brands Hatch on Saturday, I did and it was amazing, a really cool set - Gary Brooker and Andy Fairweather Lowe and Albert Lee joined him on stage for a night largely of blues but he did play cocaine and knocking on heaven's door and knock on wood. It was an outside gig and started raining as soon as he came on but still an excellent night even though we were all drenched by the end!

Eric Clapton is the best guitar player ever! I have heard that Eric's new wife/girlfriend had a baby. Not many years ago. And that's good for Eric Clapton. I hope he spends a lot of time with her. Tears In Heaven, Layla, Wonderful Tonight, I Ain't Gonna Stand For It, My fathers eyes, Cocaine, Are mine favourite songs. Of course every song is good. The text of your songs are so logical. They make sense. And your solo's and guitar tricks are just great! Sometimes i wonder if you got the guitar skills right from the moment you where born. I don't understand how a guy can Be so DAMN GOOD AT THAT GUITAR! I just don't believe it, I'll do anything too be on a concert with you. I hope they will more albums after Reptile. I have 90% of your songs on CD or pc. I listen too them every day. You are really great.!

I first got into Eric's music through a guitar playing friend. My brother got into the guitar at the same time. He turned me on to Cream, Derek and the Dominoes and the rest. Being a young Nirvana loving alternate rocking drummer, I didn't get it at first. When my brother started lessons the teacher wrote out some Clapton solos from memory and said "learn these." When you tell the guy you want to learn lead guitar he hands you Clapton. He is like textbook lead guitar. I felt that says a lot, so I checked Eric out. I was blown away by his insane psycho-blues guitar. I became a diehard fan along with my brother.

Eric's music really inspires - that mean old sounds of blues. I love it. "Blues" itself, "Unplugged", first two Cream albums - these are my favourite. Clapton playing in "Tommy" is the coolest priest I've ever seen. You talk 'bout your womaaaaaaan... go on! go on, man! yeah!

I first heard E.C. in high school art class in 1965 and have been a fan ever since. I even bought a signature strat after seeing him play the blond one in San Jose in 1994. I still love playing it and like the electronics. I first saw E.C. at the Oakland Coliseum in Oct. 1968 I think. I'll never forget the lights were off and you couldn't see a thing and then all of a sudden, Cream broke into White room. Bought every album and then replaced them with CD's so you know I'm hooked. I don't know if you even see these Eric, but thanks for all the great music and great memories. It's amazing how one can time travel when one hears a tune come on the radio. Thanks again, Bob Morden.

I'm 50 yrs old 27/7,and have been following the man it seems all my life. I first picked up on him in the mid 60's with the Yardbirds, and a lifelong affair was born. Through the Bluesbreakers, on to Cream, Blind Faith, Derek & the Dominos it continued and grew. The Rainbow concert was an immense relief to see the renewal of EC, and since then the man has just got better and better. I've been listening to Eric for getting on for forty years ( God, where HAS the time gone?) but the sound just keeps getting mellower yet sharper all the time. EC...Let's go for another 40....Good music, Mate.

Slowhand is the greatest guitarist in all of history from his beginnings in the Yardbirds, through Cream, Derek and the Dominos, Blind Faith, and especially his solo work. No one has been able to put more feeling into even the simplest song than him, I wish I could have the tiniest part of him in me to be able to play like that, and that "Over The Rainbow" guitar sounds and is beautiful, they should make more copies, well anyway, I wish Clapton the best life, and keep making that amazing music.

You rock Eric! I've been listening, watching your music since I was a teen. I've been an alcoholic and went through ups and down, you expressed it in your songs. It's true that life is like a song. You've been a role model to me! I play my guitar to express feelings and to get out of this work sometimes. Your the best. Cool page author. A fan Jez.

G'day from the Land of Oz. Great site. Always fun to visit. A question that somebody might have an answer to. I am thinking of visiting UK in Jan 2003 and would love to plan my trip to coincide with an EC concert. Does anybody know of any planned concerts around that time? I have heard that EC has announced that he will not tour after 2002 buth thought the Albert Hall gig might still be a chance. If anybody has any info or can point me in the direction of "up to date" sites, would love to hear from you. Have fun. C ya Phil

First, it's sad that Cream didn't last very long, but those guys are what musicians are supposed to be. Playing because they're dedicated professionals, and not just looking to make money like these wannabs of the 90's! Cream was not a dime a dozen band! They paid they're dues. I'm a baby boomer who has been listening to them since the '60s and every time I'm in the car, I play Disraeli Gears, Fresh Cream, or Wheels of Fire. What harmony these dudes had! Ginger Baker's drumming on Toad is unsurpassed! Eric's guitar work is meister-like and Jack Bruce's bass never gets tiring. I love listening to them! You can't bring back the '60s, but you have the greatest memories when you listen to a band like this. They are a real credit to the profession and I'll always enjoy their music! Thanks for listening. Long live Cream!

Respectful Eric Clapton, You deserve respect because you got over to become addicted to drugs and alcohol. Lately your songs and guitar sound attract attention me. I knew three your songs during my university. After that now I get to know you and your songs through the internet in detail. Nowadays I mainly spend everyday listening your songs at home. The more I listen to your music ,the more I like it. 16 years old, my son, have been acting BAND part of member in a middle school. He plays the electric guitar. I let my son listen to lots of your songs. He likes your guitar sound too.I thought your figure who is playing the guitar is like a piece of art work. I estimate you highly because you keep on making creative music rising above your age for us. You are the only person who I would like to meet these days. Eric Clapton is our saver!!!!! Thanks.

Other than guys named Jeff Beck and Hendrix, Eric obviously can't be touched on guitar. But what about his voice? His singing is so underrated but it is so soulful! Give props to his singing man! I finally got to see him at the MCI Center here in D.C. I can die a happy guy. Here is photo for you to get for your site.
