Dear Eric, I am 18 years old. I've been playing guitar for 12 years now. It was, and still is your music that inspires me to continue playing. I
especially love playing two of your songs. One of them being, the well known and well loved "Tears in Heaven", the other is a song that isn't as
recognized as the others on the album, "Old Love". I feel this is undoubtedly one of your most wonderful creations. You have a gift to entertain people and
I beg you to continue making the inspiring music that you already do!!!!!

Eric, how's it going. I went to see you at Sheffield arena in February I have to say it was amazing. Impressing people from
Yorkshire isn't easy but you managed it. It was great value for money my arse is still aching those seats were
shite by the time finished I couldn't feel my arse I've never more glad to stand up when you strolled out for the
encore I was hoping everyone would would stay stud up but the miserable gits sat down. Joking aside you have a great inspiration for me as a guitarist and
I've almost got enough hair to get a perm. Hope you are enjoying life.

The death of Harrison was a huge shock for me and I know that it was a shock for millions of people. It is not only Harrison, but to wake up to the reality that the 60's music is slowly fading to the history, as the greatest time of pop and rock. Thank God we have still Eric. And thank God he is in such a good shape. By the way, does Clapton play with a pick or always only with fingers?

Eric,
I am so sorry about George. I pray that you see my message board at Yahoo message boards regarding your dear friend. It is #369. In reading so much about one of my favorite earth teachers, ironically and most
startlingly so, when he was hurt by that insane person it was the same time period of the same affront to me. There is a deeper message as George would infer here to reckon with. He would wish for your best to be once again bestowed upon this planet...Please, I implore you to cherish the warmth and teachings that he bestowed upon you throughout all those years. Please learn his
way. Follow his lead and his teachings...
It is the way to peace.......

I beg you to wake up, smell the coffee and appreciate life while you have it. Life is too short and precious. I hope and pray it is not true. But should it be, I hope that you will realize that his spirit will always wish the best for you and always look out for you. George was a deeply spiritual and metaphysically comprehensive man. This is his language. I pray that you learn it. It will be your saving GRACE...
Best,

Message In A Bottle to Eric:
With the great hopes once again that rumors about George Harrison are just rumors, this is an expression wished to be heard by him or his band mates/friends.
It is so very important during these times of MILLENNIA growth and change that Eric take a look at what is truly happening. Should this loss of his dear, dear friend, his "brother in arms" be imminent, which we pray is not true, then perhaps this should be a motivating force of enlightenment about the reality of how important VALUABLE LIVING life is. Not by the almighty dollar and fame but by what is truly full of quality and precious. Friendships.
With a nickname given as being a female "George" it is with deep gratitude to carry this moniker. Reflective of quality, deep and private stuff.
George Harrison has been his long term supporter through good and bad times. And those that are reliable, true fans of Eric's should
acknowledge the fact that during these potentially trying times for this situation he needs as much support and prayers as possible. Perhaps even reflections on their long term friendship might even be of help.
As he might deem a stranger to the proximity of closeness there is certainly no being a stranger to the situation.
Wishing that should rumors hold any truth, then the best to come out of this as tribute to both Conor and his long time brother friend could and should come in the life long contribution and tribute to helping people reflective of his love for them. Children's charities and
commitment to them should have already occurred if there had been proper education, guidance and protection and of course long term
commitment to cancer charities.
Praying for Conor. Praying for George. Praying for Eric.
Here's to prayers for all those concerned.

Okay--This is important. Requesting many prayers for George Harrison. On Robbie Robertson's website someone stated that he is not in too good a shape. Let us all pray for him and for Patti, the remaining Beatles and his beautiful wife Olivia and family. I also pray for Eric who's close friend is George as we all know and that he stands firm and tall in George's time of need.
We also think it is such a shame on behalf of Eric's pr people that during these times of questionable reputation, that no one ever promoted the GOOD point that he appeared at the HASTE charity function. For heart and stroke victims. Shows something.
We hope that this manner of dignity and honorability that transcends situations no matter how distracting or unnecessary shall set a GOOD example of being a WHOLE human being.
GOD BLESS YOU GEORGE.
Sincerely,
Lauren and Mare= Catwomen

I am a complete and utter EC nut! For many years now I have been collecting tonnes of memorabilia and of course BOOTLEGS in both audio and video format. With over 80 EC concerts under my belt, I fly out to Osaka on the 17th of November to catch the opening 3 nights of the 2001 Japan tour & I can't wait! I have met EC on a number of occasions over the years and although the music has changed direction and his appearance changes like the weather, one thing has remained throughout- Eric Clapton plays guitar with more feeling and emotion than any other player on the planet. That is why I will never step off the EC path. EC and his music has and always will play a very big part in my life. Eric is one of the biggest reasons I'm playing guitar now. And, if it wasn't for him, I might not have discovered how much I love blues music. I have great respect for many guitarists and their playing ability. But, very few players are blessed with the ability to make you feel things through their playing. This is something Eric manages to achieve on a daily basis. "Clapton is God"

It is hard for me to put into words what the music of Eric Clapton means to me because he exposes so many of his emotions when he plays, he forces the listener to take the tour of their own emotions. I wish to thank him for all the times he has donated his time and the talent he has exhibited throughout all the tragic events that this country has been experiencing. It is interesting to see that even his contemporaries acknowledge him as a great talent.
We all have grown up with him and admired his genius. My admiration for Clapton has spanned most of his career, but someone needs to thank him for his contributions to help in fundraising benefits and general selflessness in lending his talents wherever needed. I hope that he doesn’t stop for a long time and that he can appreciate what a comfort many of his songs have given throughout these trying times.

I just saw Eric Clapton on TV playing at the Concert For New York. I was wondering what songs he is going to play. I though about River Of Tears and Tears In Heaven, but I was totally wrong! He played the blues starting with Hoochie Coochie Man and guess who was with him on stage. Buddy Guy! Totally awesome. I didn't know any of the other guys. It sounded like they don't play together very often.
To be honest, I didn't know the second song, but it was real blues! Eric and Buddy played great solos. Eric looked real happy and relaxed. The people were
enjoying the song very much. They wanted more but of course that is not possible in such a concert.

I have been a Clapton fan for a very long time
and Just one night, Layla and live at the Fillmore are
some of my favourites. But there's no mention here of the Roger Waters album
Pros and cons of hitchhiking on which Clapton puts in a
stunning guest appearance with some of his most lyrical and scorching solos since Layla and other assorted...Clapton
fans will definitely get a kick out of this record which I
think is pretty much a masterpiece! (His work on the wonderful

I have been a Clapton fan since he first started and he along with many other 60's British artists were on Top of the Pops. For me Eric is at his best when he plays live, hence the Princes Trust concert back in the mid 80's. I do think that some of his later albums have suffered for the
over arranging and producing from Phil Collins. Sometimes the backing sounds like another Phil Collins album. Also he is repeating a hell of a lot of his material these days. Perhaps he is short of money. Seriously though, he is a
phenomenal artist and unlike a lot of artists when they age, his voice is getting better and better. Let's here some of those Claptonesque riffs once again Eric.

I have always thought that Clapton's music was wonderful, but with the purchase of my first album, I realized what a powerful rock influence he was. he fused blues, acid rock, and folk rock into one form that is simply beautiful music to my ears.

Just wanted to say nobody's music has touched me so deeply and has been there for every emotion possible as has
Erics. From joy and delight to introspection and grief, EC has touched all bases and to me defines everything pure about music, it never had healing powers until
I heard it from the voice and guitar of this guy. Be it blues, country, or the wonderful instrumentals
Eric composes his music is for me a vital ingredient of my life and how I feel
to those that have been touched the same way will know what I'm talking about this is just a humble thank you to a genius that can weave
options like thread in his music. Thank you Eric.

Does any body else agree that GOD should end all his shows with River Of

February 2001 and we knew from the opening chords it was going to be the highlight of the set.

Hi, everyone I'm a singer guitarist, whom only recently started listening to Clapton, well a couple of years now and every CD that comes out its a must for my collection
I may have been a better guitarist if only i'd listened earlier anyway like my other guitar hero Gary Moore Clapton is a truly inspiring musician..
and with all the sadness that's in our world today.

Thanks for the great website. I've played guitar off and on since I was 10. Now at 46 I'm falling in love with it all over again. I've played on a '62 Melody Maker and a '75 Les Paul for years. But for me, nothing plays like a Strat and I've finally got one. I originally wanted the American Deluxe with the noiseless pickups in that beautiful transparent Teal. I had to lower my financial sites a little, but I'm real happy with this Deluxe SuperStrat. It's got the Ash body and medium jumbo frets that I wanted in the other guitar.
From the land of Billy Gibbons, Bugs Henderson, and Jimmie and Stevie Ray, thanks for all the inspiration Eric. Paul Smith III

I still have my Yardbirds album from the 60's! Have been a Clapton fan since the mid-60's - my husband fondly calls me a Clapton groupie, at age 48. Have seen Eric numerous times and only wish he would come to Atlanta more often. He's overcome much adversity in his life, has helped others overcome theirs (Crossroads in Antigua) and deserves the success he's achieved and his newfound happiness. He's only gotten better and mellowed with age. No one is better, none can compare. The legend lives on.

I saw Eric last year in Portland and it was the best concert I had ever been to in my life. I'm a fan for 30 years now. Well, this month I saw Eric again and even with my high expectations, I was blown away. I took my son and hoped I hadn't ruined the concert for him by building it up so much. No to worry, Eric and band were wonderful. We had the very best time. My son said after the concert that he felt like he had a
religious experience. Eric Clapton truly does get better every year. Any time you come to Portland Eric, I'll be there. Everyone I've talked with about the concert say the same things. Can't believe how good the guy is. I knew he was good, but I didn't know anyone was that good. Stuff like that.
I also really liked Doyle Bramhall II and Smokestack. I thank you for introducing me to his music.

Eric is the GREATEST. My only criticism of this tour, is the length of the show. With encores, it runs about two hours. I feel this is too short. I like rock/pop/blues concerts to be two and a half to three hours at least. I think with the price of tickets today, you should give us a longer concert Eric.

I saw Eric in June on NYC at Madison Square Garden. He was amazing and his career has been outstanding. I wonder if Eric
really knows how he has touched so many of us. Keep up the amazing work. Eric along with Larry Carlton, Chet Atkins, Carlos Santana, Rossington & Collins, and Duane Allman have been the primary influences in my own guitar career. I've been playing 25 years and still love Eric the most. Eric your voice has just tripled in the last 5 - 10 years. Your vocals are
excellent now. Does anyone else out there know any other guitar influences I should check out?

Hi all you fans, I live in London UK and I have seen EC a number of times in London at the Royal Albert Hall. It is a great venue. If you have a chance to get there then go for it- he appears every year there for a few weeks days and you will of course know the double album called 24 Nights. This was recorded at the Albert Hall. Unfortunately I always have big trouble trying to get tickets. By the way I saw the Eagles in London a few weeks ago and the music was great but the venue (Earls Court London ) was crap. It no way is anywhere near as good. PS I sort of feel a little close to EC in a silly way as my young son died about the same time as his! Anyway must go and don't forget get to London and the Royal Albert Hall. The last time I went my wife and I had to go for the Hospitality tickets. This was great --in one of the boxes with food and booze laid on plus a free programme. But boy was it expensive I stuck it on the card and am still paying! it was worth it. Regards and keep well from Tony L.

We were in Utah on August 1,2001. We are from Abilene, Texas. I had wanted to go see Eric when he Played in Dallas. But at the time I was unable to do so. After much
discussion I took my 18 year old Daughter to her first Concert! The Delta Center had a
Wonderful Sound System. We had Seats that were close enough to see The God of Blues up Close and enjoy it. The Delta was packed. And by the end of the Concert everyone was on there Feet and did not want this Concert to end! I can say that Eric Clapton is truly the Greatest, and I
doubt that my Daughter will ever forgot one of the Greatest Concerts that has been brought to Salt Lake City. I can not wait to see him again, and do hope that he will return to Dallas!

I was just at the 7/25 show in Chicago (I am from NY but flew there to see Clapton)
I also saw him in June at the garden...... but I have to say one thing... while in
Chicago I went to a blues club called buddy guy's legends. I am sure many of you know of this, however the night before
I saw Clapton I saw a man named Chris beard play there and he was great. I just thought that the only thing that would've made
Eric's show better would've been to have HIM open instead of Doyle what's-his-name. end of story.

I tend to agree with Wilson (June 26, 2001). I was at MSG 6/22 and was ready to leave 45 minutes into the concert. EC could not be described as anything other than professional- to the extreme. I began thinking I could have saved my money, stayed home, and listened to a CD & enjoyed it as much, if not more. It was pure
drudgery! Fortunately, things took off beginning with 'She's Gone'-- the band, the audience, (even EC) seemed to finally come to life. Now I know why Eric Clapton is considered one of the best guitarists ever. Equally as amazing were Billy Preston and Nathan East- at times it seemed EC was merely providing a little background noise. I'm glad I went but I suppose I was unrealistically expecting to be awestruck from start to finish.

I've seen E.C. several times over the years and it has always been great but last night in St. Louis was the best!! My sister flew in from CA and her daughter from Phoenix and my 22 year old daughter joined me. It was a religious experience. When E.C. broke into "Bell Bottom Blues" my daughter started crying. She has grown up hearing The Man. She said she felt like she was witnessing history. She was right. But what is the story with all of the old folks these days? I could never go to a Clapton concert and sit still but the last 3 Clapton concerts I have attended, there are too many people who act as though they are at the symphony. We had to resort to
chair dancing so we did not tick off the people behind us.
Also, I was thrilled to hear him play "Badge". I never though I would hear it live!

I have been an Eric lover for years now and have seen the tragedy this man has
experienced through out the years.
to lose a child must be the ultimate loss anyone could experience and the fact that this man
didn't turn to his old addictions at a time like that shows how strong a man he is.
I am so happy for him now to see his new arrival and his forth coming marriage as he has also had a hard time with his past loves and has been hurt no doubt time after time.
All I wish to say is to an extraordinary man is much love and happiness to you and your family for the future and please keep producing that wonderful music. take care.

My name is William Davila, I am a big fan and respect your work and your musical talent. I have practiced playing your music and have learned all the chords to your songs. It has always been a dream of mine to play one of your songs with you or at least meet you. I have played your music for all of my grandchildren 8 years now and they love your music just as much as I
do, they sing and dance along to your music all the time. I know your coming to Las Vegas real soon and I hope you might consider at least hearing one of your hugest fans play at least one
song, I know this is a lot to ask, but I have never asked for anything for myself
ever, I am always doing for my children, and grandchildren, just cause I love to see them
happy, and know that they are okay. Well please think about what I have to say
and, remember whether I ever hear from you or see you, I will still always be your biggest fan,..

issue. I have read that he started his own alcoholic treatment center, but can find no details. Can you help?

People, unknown to most people and me until today, Eric has a new (I'm pretty sure it is) track called "Labyrinth" which he has done with a lady called Leona Boyd for an album called "First lady of the guitar". It is written by Michael Kamen and features Boyd, Kamen and Clapton. check it out its fantastic. you'll have to dig through www.mp3.com but if you like EC's film stuff you'll love this!

I was born listening to Eric Clapton music. My mom is his biggest and best
fan. I am almost ten now, and on Father's Day, she took me and my dad to see him
in Philly. I then realized how great of an artist he is. And my mom is right
when she says "My groups will come and go but Eric keeps going." He
was great and very interesting to watch, we had good seats, and he is together.

Have you ever experienced a two hours and a half without breathing at all? That's what it feels like his
concerts. Though his range of talent and expressivity his simply awful, you'll find his kind of singing and playing so direct it will fill your heart with joy or extreme sadness, depending on what he wants to let you feel
Long live Eric!

But about the tablature page, ever consider using PowerTab rather than GuitarPro? The full version is free, and it's better than GuitarPro. And the print-outs are even more realistic than GP. E-mail me if anyone's interested in their address.

Nov.24 Nagoya, Gymnasium
Nov.26 Fukuoka, Marine Messe
Nov.28-30, Dec.3-5 Tokyo, Budokan

Saw EC 6/23 at MSG. Of course he was professional-but I thought almost too polished. Could have done the show with a little more raw blues energy. I know it's blasphemy to say anything negative about EC-but maybe it's time to chill at home for awhile. Take another listen to Bluesbreakers and Dominoes jams and anything live from the blues tour a few years back. Just wasn't blown away by the polished precision displayed. Too bad the Iceman is gone.

I don't think your set list for Thursday June 21 at Madison Square Garden is right. He did an instrumental toward the end that I think was Son & Sylvia. Also, I don't recall hearing Stormy Monday. Does anybody else agree?

I saw Eric Friday night (6/22/01) at Madison Square Garden in NYC. Been a fan for a long time, but never got to see him live. WOW.......I saw "GOD" .....a night I'll never forget. I got shivers up my spine with his solos. I was so close I could have touched him, but I didn't......I was too mesmerized. Got some great
photos though. My husband plays the blues, mostly Clapton. People in this town call him "The Eric Clapton of Bayonne
" Lucky me, I get to hear the next best thing. That's why I'm called Layla....I brought him to his knees.
Eric if you read this: Congratulations on your long awaited happiness and the birth of Julia Rose. I'm recently married for the 2nd time myself and brought Mark Steven into the world. Marriage is
definitely better the second time around.
Thank you for a wonderful night in NYC, God Bless and may you be forever happy and content!!!!

I am 20 years old and I got to see Clapton at Nashville this year. I will see him again in St. Louis 24th row. It has been a dream of mine to see him. And I get it fulfilled two times in one year. If Clapton visits this site before the concert in St. Louis, and reads this, I'll be holding a big sign at the concert that reads, "Clapton, can I have your Pic." It's a long shot in the dark. Just turned 45 last June 1, and sadly the only chance I had to see Eric Clapton LIVE! was back in 1979 or 80, I worked for the only rock station in the Philippines and had 2
front row tickets to his one and only visit to Manila. However the night before, I
received an emergency call for me to go out of town to Lucena province cause my wife had a
miscarriage while on the road, she sang in a popular local band, ASIN. Here I am, more than 20 years older and still dreaming of seeing EC perform live. I pray that my dream will one day become true. In the meantime while I wait, I continue to promote and spread the gospel of the blues here in the Philippines.

Seeing Eric live first in the 70's with Layla and now in 95,98,2001 I truly believe
he is in top form. He somehow seems at peace with himself and it shows in his playing and his singing. Seeing Clapton live has always been a spiritual
experience for me, I'm lifted emotionally for days after seeing his show. Eric is a gifted person, talented musician, " Clapton is God " is not too far from the truth because I believe you can hear and feel God when you see him live. Eric is to music, what MJ is to basketball, Tiger is to golf ... he's the real deal ... the best that ever was or will be for a long time. To the maker of this site " Thank you " to Eric himself " when you get to heaven, you'll see Connor again and God will smile on you " and when I get there, I want to give you a hug and jam a little. Your songs are about all I play. Thank you Eric, I love you man.

I went to Eric's '01 World Tour in New Orleans and he is THE BEST. I am an avid guitar player and a fan of good guitar talent, and he has mass talent. I was a big fan before I went to the concert, and on the way my friend was telling me that he was the best. Of course i didn't believe him because of my faith that nobody living or dead in the history of guitar could touch Randy
Rhoads (Ozzy Ozbourne's guitarist before the induction of Zack Wylde).
Boy was I wrong. I have now changed my opinion and am now 100% sure that until I see it for myself in person, Eric is unstoppable. There is absolutely no doubt about it.
Peace Out.

I just saw EC in concert at Columbus, Ohio. This was a dream of a lifetime. I lost a son in 1990 and when Eric lost his son, somehow I felt a connection to him. I had an experience after my son died which is described on my homepage, which involved a rainbow. Before I went to the concert I was hoping that somehow I would see a rainbow there. I didn't see a rainbow, but the encore song that he sang was "Somewhere Over The Rainbow". Somehow I felt like the song was meant just for me, and though no one else knew and that even Eric didn't know, somehow God had led him to sing that song. Thanks Eric! It meant more to me than you will ever know. God Bless!

Great job on this site, I love it. I am so upset that Eric is saying good bye to touring, I never got the chance to go to one of his shows. I know its hard on a person, but I think that he should keep touring but not as much as he already does. Well what ever happens Eric will always rock.

Eric Clapton is such a creative guitarist with a great ear for music. This site is really helpful; there's so much guitar tablature to learn.
It looks like much time and effort have been put into the creation of it, and it's very well done! I am a young guitarist/musician, and have been quite influenced by the great Clapton.

The show in Charlotte, N.C. was great. I was on the 2nd row and could not believe how much emotion he put into each song.
The Impressions were great and seemed to enjoy the response they got from the
crowd. I have seen Santana, Jeff Beck, Jimmy Page and some of the young groups
Johnny Lang and Kenny Wayne Shepard and many other great groups and Clapton is the best.
I hate to hear that he will not be touring much in the future. I was also lucky and got a guitar pick that was given out after the show.

Sad to hear he's giving up touring after this. I'm going to the concert next week in
Toronto, CAN. Have seen him many times and flew to London a few years ago to see him at the Royal Albert Hall, it was great. His music is the best,
he's a survivor and he's the sexiest man alive!

I have seen Clapton many, many times over his long tenure as one of the finest blues guitarist of our generation.
I have seen Cream, Delaney and Bonnie, Derek and the Dominos, and his solo projects.
Once saw Clapton and Santana, this was in 1975. they tore it up at the end doing further on up the road.
I have tickets for his concert in Detroit on June 6 and hope that it would be good.
Saw his last 2 tours and was blown away with is playing. I have been a musician for 35 yrs and am no
slouch, but he never ceases to amaze me. keep playing the blues and ill keep going to the concerts have a great day, stay clean and see you in
June.

circle, starting with John Mayall and Bluesbreakers in Blues and eventually makes his way home no pun intended. I've seen him on tour with Pilgrim and will see him this time around as well, I'm Hyped!!

binoculars this time, and you could see on his face how much he loves the crowd and how much passion he has in his music.....If you ever get the chance to see him...........DO IT!!

This is a great website , very informative for Clapton buffs like myself and millions of others. This site truly brings the legend closer to us. Eric's music through the years of my life has made me a more sensitive and more of an emotionally aware individual. He truly seems to be a humble, hard working individual, who lets the world know who the true Blues musicians are and gives them a much overdue credit.
