I got into the blues and EC around '86, and wanted to be a Bluesman (I play harmonica). I haven't seen EC live (only playing cricket!). My aunt in Ripley says he's a lovely man but she doesn't care for his music! I love your music Eric. The best bluesmen were often in their 60's and older, so I think we may have the best to come yet. Any chance of playing down here in Torquay?

Kudos. The best EC site I've seen. People talk about Hendrix, SRV, etc as the best, but in my humble opinion no one can touch Slowhand. His phrasing, timing, feel, and tone are simply the best. I've always enjoyed his music even as a teenager in the mid 80's, but over the last few years since I started playing guitar his music has become inspirational. He's the only one who makes me want to pick up my Strat.

Until a few years ago, I have not really appreciated Eric Clapton...he had never been my favorite artist, until I actually sat down and listened to the lyrics to songs.... tears in heaven makes me think about a bunch of things in life....as of right now, people may think I'm crazy for liking Eric Clapton, seeing as I'm younger, but I r4eally don't care....my boyfriend had played wonderful tonight for me on his acoustic, and sang, so that song has a special meaning for me...I have visited many other Clapton websites, but this is far most the best!!!!

The first time I saw Eric was in the late 60's. It was at Woolsey Hall, Yale University New Haven Connecticut. April 20th...I still have the ticket. This is a GREAT website. I've searched for other E.C. sites and haven't found any that compare! I'm grateful for Eric Clapton's talent. As a guitar player I'm constantly challenged to emulate his style and yet, as he would do, make it my own. The proof of the depth of his talent is, I believe, his longevity. The one thing I would like to know more about is where he is at spiritually. He often brings up spiritual things in his songs and interviews so I'm curious to know.

I first heard EC on a pay-for-view broadcast of the Rolling Stones Philadelphia concert in 1989. He blew my mind away with "Red Rooster". I was 64 years old at the time. I am now 74 years old and an avid Clapton fan. I have been to three of his concerts in Houston. If I was younger, I could easily be a groupie. Even more important he turned me on to "blues" which has really enriched my life and helped me discover myself at the deepest level! Thank you EC for all your great music and for enriching my life. Eric Clapton has long been my most admired musician and guitarist. I've seen him three years in a row at the Albert Hall and every time he's come to Barcelona. My favourite all time songs are Layla (I still prefer the electric version), Wonderful Tonight (Live!), Circus (left town) and as a (bad) guitarist, SIGNE. What a piece of guitar artistry !! And the song he used to end some of his concerts (Ain't Nobody's Business) is splendid when heard live. The site is great (the most extensive I've found for EC) I only expect that the news of a solo record this Fall comes true. Keep up the good work (both Gareth and Eric)

Great site. Eric Clapton has touched my life in may ways. I was raised on his music as my dad is also a big fan. Clapton is THE master of the guitar. I would love it if he would do a tour of the UK. I also saw Eric's interview last week end on 60 mins. I was also impressed with his honesty and candor. Those were some pretty personal things he was talking about. As always he is a class act. Last Sunday I saw a interview with Eric and Ed Bradley of 60 minutes. The brutal honesty that came from Eric was very uplifting.It seems that he has come to a peaceful place in his life. He comes off as a humble man who happens to be one of the greatest guitar players in this or any other universe. He said how in 1984 what was his goal in life was, and he said to be alive and sober. Hopefully he'll live to a ripe old age. I feel as though Eric has become a Bluesman like the ones he worshipped and studied at their alters while he was a young man. I'm also glad he's gotten control of his life, even though he's suffered alot. The honesty of his music which made me a fan along time ago,made me feel, emotion came full circle seeing this moving and touching interview. Way to go Eric!!

Eric Clapton is one of the most incredible musicians of his time. I went to a concert he gave in the Meadowlands in I think it was '88, and I felt like he made love to me with his guitar. I was won over, and Have always loved him and his music. He's really one for the ages. I'm glad I was in his time.He plays real music, not like the trash around these days. You said it all during the AOL chat that you play and listen to music with your heart. To me, that's the only way! Eric Clapton is a living legend. His work speaks for itself ,but more to the point, his devotion to his fans is awesome. The online chat last week was a long interview, and this site provided the minutes of that conversation for members. Check it out. The class of this gentleman is very evident. He is able to show humility and grace in a somewhat cruel and heartless business. Clapton is God, and Duane Allman, god rest his soul, had neither the songwriting or vocal talents that Eric does but he admittedly was a great guitarist, but music is not a boxing match, and Allmans death is no game either. I danced with my father at my wedding to "You were there", and I recently lost my dad to Cancer, so this song and "My Father's Eyes" have so much meaning to me, words alone cannot explain. This is a great site and certainly made my day when I found it, as I have been in love with EC since his days with Blind Faith. The new collaboration with BB King is sensational and is playing whenever I am in the car. Driving with EC and BB makes every trip more enjoyable. My friends know about my love affair with EC and I received the new CD from three friends for my birthday--however, I had it already--as they should have known. I told them to keep it for themselves as there is not likely to be anything comparable this year. Thanks for all the great work!
