I've seen EC on every tour since 1983 and this was the best. Robert Cray as a support act! This just set the scene for what would prove to be a great night. When EC came onto the stage for a rousing version of pretending the gig started well, but the amount of really good, early 70's stuff in the show was incredible, he must have played nearly half of the dominoes LP I am yours, Anyday, Bell Bottom Blues, Nobody Knows You, Layla and Got To Get Better, all of these were fantastic, along with Motherless Children, After Midnight and I Shot The Sheriff (played in a much less rock vein than recently).

The band were unbelievable, Derek Trucks, Chris Stainton and the bass player were incredible. I'm afraid I can't see why everyone raves about Doyle Bramhall he seems pretty average at best.

I noticed that other reviewers said a lot of people seemed bored, but that is simply because instead of corporate EC of 90's they the blues/rock EC of the late 60's very early 70's and the bulk of the people there were expecting tears in heaven, change the world etc. What they got was more like the dominoes live. Derek Trucks slide work was amazing.

Eric always plays best when pushed by those around him, and Derek Trucks did just that the guy is amazing and I'd love EC to put the dominoes back together with Bobby W, Derek Trucks and the rhythm section from this gig to tour the setlist the dominoes used to play.

I'm off to ebay to get tickets for the Albert Hall and so should anyone that reads this in time.
