I have been hoping this one would turn up for a long time. Since watching Eric Clapton: A man and his music, I have yearned for more of what I saw at the Ronnie Scotts segment used in the documentary. Well here it is and I'm not disappointed. There is a relaxed and fun atmosphere to the set which comes from everyone obviously having a great time. Buddy Guy does all the talking, which suits Eric fine! EC's guitar does the talking, special mentions go to Play the Blues for what seems like a loose jam evolves into something really stylish; Jam has a really funky groove which really stays in the mind, very good; Worried Life Blues 2 which is the version featured in the doc, is one of the best versions EC has done (with the 24 Nights version). Overall a very good bootleg, which is very enjoyable and could be played anywhere! |
