There are a number of titles with portions of this show; this one has the best sound quality. EC's introduction (by Duck Dunn) for the Encore is awesome, and features an excellent version of "Further On Up the Road". This release on the Stardust label is a remaster of the earlier "Talk to the Boss" release and is sonically superior.

I've followed Eric's career since first hearing "Wheels of Fire" and first saw him live three times on the "461" tour in 1974. Because of health problems, he was rather timid in his playing and singing at that time, but had improved noticeably when I saw him twice in 1975.

He came to this area only once in the subsequent 10 years-a memorable show with Muddy Waters as the opening act at the Richmond Mosque-but his show in Richmond in 1985 was truly memorable.

He played several passionate, jaw-dropping solos, my favorite being "Same Old Blues." I NEVER EVER tire of hearing E.C. play blues.

Speaking of blues-actually, in this case THE BLUES - I had the pleasure of meeting B.B.King when he was in Richmond last year and I thought he and Eric were talking about a much desired tour, playing small to mid-sized venues. When I broached the subject, Mr. King shook his head, throwing his hands in the air as if to say, "Well, it was a good idea, but..."

So Eric, if it isn't too late, how about accommodating your fans and embarking on a "Dream Tour" with B.B.? It makes me almost giddy thinking about it.
